DSC Legal has advised the EPH Group of Czech entrepreneur Daniel Kretinsky on the acquisition of all shares of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW) in EnBW Kraftwerk Lippendorf GmbH and thus in the lignite-fired power plant Lippendorf by an EPH group company. The transaction also includes the acquisition of the power plant and ancillary areas belonging to unit "S". The transfer of the shares and properties will take place upon completion of the transaction at the end of 31 December 2025. Both parties have agreed to keep the details confidential. The transaction is subject to clearance by the antitrust authorities and other customary closing conditions.
The Lippendorf power plant is located in the district of Leipzig and was commissioned in 1999. It has two power plant units ("R" and "S"), each with a net electrical output of 875 megawatts. The "R" power plant unit is already owned and operated by Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG (LEAG), a member of the EPH Group, which also operates the "S" unit with its local staff.
