The Managing Partner of DSC Legal, attorney and notary Dr Peter Diedrich, Chairman of the Legal Commission of the largest German - voluntarily organized – association of small and medium-sized enterprises (Federal Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises - BVMW) has launched an SME initiative under the brand "Job & Wohnen” (Job & Living). The pilot project in Berlin with 150 apartments is about to be implemented. Follow-up projects are already being planned in 10 locations across Germany to enable small and medium-sized companies to offer urgently needed employees not only a job but also affordable housing. The so-called serial construction method allows a fast and cost-effective implementation of the employee housing projects. The modern modular construction is sustainable and meets the requirements of KfW promotional bank with regard to energy efficiency.
The future employee housing projects will be equipped with, among other things, all-day childcare facilities, community cafés, coworking space, common areas (e.g. bicycle shed with integrated workshop, event and homework rooms), neighborhood gardens and areas for urban farming with a weekly market (in cooperation with local ecological farmers) and mobility concepts (e.g. e-bikes, car sharing, etc.).
